Participating in the Chorale
The success and growth of the Carolina Master Chorale is due in large part to the efforts of its loyal singing members and to their talent, hard work, and devotion. The volunteer chorus consists of over 70 auditioned members. Members, from all parts of the Grand Strand, north to Calabash, west to Conway, and south to Pawleys Island, have differing levels of musical experience. Volunteer professional associates enhance our membership. The high quality of choral performance over the last fourteen years is very much related to the devotion of the music director and conductor, Dr. Timothy Koch. Dr. Koch is recognized as a champion of contemporary composers and as a leading interpreter of choral and orchestral masterworks. He challenges the Chorale to excel.
The governance of the organization is accomplished through a volunteer board of directors and committees. Additionally, The Friends of the Chorale is an opportunity for business and community leaders to offer support and advice to our board.
The Carolina Master Chorale not only contributes to the cultural and civic life of the Grand Strand, but acts as cultural ambassador for our community through performances in other South Carolina cities, in performances in other parts of the United States, and in other countries. The Chorale's concerts have been broadcast throughout the state as part of South Carolina Educational Radio's "Carolina Concerts" program.
Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings from August through May at Trinity Church, 7:00-9:30 PM, Myrtle Beach, SC.
