Become A Member of the carolina master chorale
Welcome to the 43rd season of the Carolina Master Chorale!
Here you will find information which will help you to know a little more about the CMC, who to ask in case of questions, and how to make your singing experience with the Chorale fulfilling and fun.
Auditioning
Auditions are scheduled by our Music Director. If you are interested, please click HERE to email our Music Director to request an audition time.
Okay, I’ve Auditioned and Been Accepted as a CMC Member. Now What?
You joined Carolina Master Chorale because you love choral singing, you have an ability to learn and sing challenging repertoire, and you have the drive for excellence that allows you to commit to doing what it takes to make CMC a continued success. Your initial successful audition admits you to the Chorale for a particular season. The Music Director may schedule re-auditions at any time. Your successful audition and acceptance into the CMC should 1) reflect your desire to participate in the creation of great music, 2) reflect your commitment to sing the entire complement of concerts in a particular season and 3) reflect your financial commitment to this organization.
Your Role in Person
Congratulations and thank you! It is now your personal responsibility to attend rehearsals, learn the music and participate in the life of the CMC. As individuals we gather to sing together, and aim in doing so to become more like family making beautiful music as one.
Your Role in the Community
Yes, tell people that you sing with the CMC! Invite them to attend a concert, invite them to join you (audition required), or, if they do not sing, invite them to become a Friend of the CMC in order to support you in other ways. Our fundraising events are also a great way to invite neighbors to get to know the CMC in a non-concert setting.
Your Role Online
The internet gives us 24/7 access to the rest of the world and vice versa. Please direct people to www.carolinamasterchorale.com if they have not already been there. Ticket sales, event information, CMC history and more can be found at the click of the mouse. If you are comfortable sharing on facebook.com, please spread the word. All of our events are regularly posted there, as well as in your inbox.
Communication
Between rehearsals, the Chorale leadership will use email almost exclusively to communicate with members. If you do not use email, please let Becky Donevant (843-444-5774, becky@carolinamasterchorale.com) and Judi Adams (330-554-1056, jsadams122@gmail.com) know your preferred method of communication. Please open, read and respond when necessary to emails you receive from the Chorale. Please make sure you provide your current, correct email address to Judi Adams.
Calendar of Events
Rehearsals are held every Thursday from 7:00-9:30 PM, starting this year on August 14 and running through April at First Presbyterian Church, 3810 Robert M. Grissom Parkway, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577. There is typically a break of 10-20 minutes about halfway through the evening. EXCEPTIONS: Thanksgiving week when we rehearse on TUESDAY evening, and other dates as announced.
On concert weekends we frequently have Friday, Saturday, and/or Sunday rehearsals depending upon the program. Please be sure to set aside concert weekends on your calendar so you will be able to attend these rehearsals. Dress rehearsals require everyone’s attendance. Call time is generally 1 1/2hr before performance time.
The dates, times, and locations of all concerts, musical events and other performances are listed on this website. Please be sure to transfer all important dates and times to your personal calendar. There may also be special rehearsals to prepare for collaborative performances with the Long Bay Symphony, the Rotary Fundraiser and others, for example.
